Project Documents

We hope that what we’ve done will inspire other community groups to plan and carry out their own projects. And in case it provides some help along the way we include here some of the key documents that helped us plan our project and obtain funding – particularly the application forms for the two stages of our bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund, our Activity Plan (two PDF files), which sets out in some detail our objectives and plans, a variety of contract briefs for the various roles we recruited people to carry out for us, and a ‘model lease’ for tenancy of the property. They are all specific to our project – and some confidential financial details have been omitted- but might give some ideas and a ‘head start’ for other teams. Good luck!

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
